The Burntisland Community Action Plan will be launched on Sunday 3rd July, at an event in Burntisland Primary School. Everyone in the community is encouraged to come along to celebrate the launch of the 5 year plan that has been prepared from the input of a really thorough community engagement process.
The Plan will help to guide and support the efforts of community groups as well as Fife Council and other partner organisations, to take forward the Vision for the future of Burntisland as “A vibrant and forward looking seaside town with great community spirit, working together to make the most of our cultural and natural assets, providing quality services and facilities for visitors and locals”.
Alex MacDonald, Chair of the Burntisland Community Action Plan Steering group said:
“A lot of volunteer effort went into this Community Action Plan. We went round the doors with survey forms and got 545 responses from 1000 households, we spoke with around 30 different groups in the community, and held a really successful community event attended by around 320 people. We also carried out a visitor survey talking to people on day trips to the town. We are delighted with the results and proud of our Community Action Plan. We are now focussing on setting up the Burntisland Community Futures Trust to lead the way!”
