Senior Consultants – STAR consultants have a blend of experience in community development, regeneration and engagement gained in the community, public and third sectors.

COLIN ROXBURGH
ColinColin has over 30 years experience in community development. He has worked in the UK, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand. He worked for Voluntary Action Cumbria (Rural Community Council) as a rural community development worker before working for the pioneering Local Enterprise Advisory Project and Strathclyde Community Business – setting up and supporting Community Enterprise in areas of multiple deprivation in Strathclyde. He became a consultant in 1989 working in New Zealand and Canada before returning to Scotland in 1995. Over the last 18 years his work has focused on supporting communities to prepare Community Action Plans, establish Community Development Trusts and develop successful projects. He lives in Comrie, Perthshire.

 

LESLEY CAMPBELL
Lesley
Lesley Campbell has extensive experience of work within the community and public sector, implementing programmes of community engagement and action planning. She worked as a Grants Officer for Stirling Council before taking up post as the Community Futures Programme Manager for the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park Authority in 2001. She has been a grants assessor for the Scottish Community Foundation and a Board Member on the LEADER Local Action Group for Forth Valley. From 2009-2011 she was the senior executive of the Loch Lomond & Trossachs Community Partnership, reviewing governance and membership, strategic and business planning and developing partnership working. Lesley left the National Park in 2009 to join STAR. She lives in Stirling.

 

ALAN TUFFS
Alan
Alan has over 30 years of experience of community and enterprise development and management. During the 1980s he managed a community enterprise in West Lothian running workspace and a building enterprise. He went on to work for Rural Forum in the Douglas Valley ex-mining villages before taking up post as the Development Officer for the Corrom Trust Rural Regeneration Programme. Between 1995 and 2010 he was the senior Scotland based associate for the Neighbourhood Initiatives Foundation running training programmes and promoting Planning for Real. Alan joined STAR in 1998. Alan lives in Harburn, West Lothian.
